ABOUT
CHORALIA MILFORD

Choralia at All Saints Church, Milford

We are a Milford on Sea based chamber choir, founded in September 21, by local resident Janice England. At its inception, locally renowned conductor Philip Daish-Handy agreed to take on the choir, working in conjunction with Leigh Jerwood, accompanist.

The choir has grown in strength musically and in number. Comprising some 40 members, the choir’s concerts take place predominantly in Milford on Sea and nearby towns and villages. Repertoire includes a broad range of secular and sacred music, both classical and modern, often sung a cappella, as well as world premieres of local composers’ music.

Our Musical Director

Philip Daish-Handy has entertained audiences across the world. He first came to prominence after winning the prestigious Music at Beaulieu Competition, leading to important scholarships, performances and several recordings. Philip founded and is Artistic Director of the Nova Foresta Classical Players.

With his orchestra, Philip has conducted numerous concerts, and has collaborated with many choirs and choral societies to form choral extravaganzas, ‘come and sing’ events, candlelight concerts and Christmas concerts throughout the UK. Since being appointed as Choralia Milford’s Musical Director, Philip has led some memorable performances. He is also delighted to hold additional conducting positions with the Lymington Choral Society and Voices of the Forest.
